Patti Drapeau is an educational consultant, internationally known presenter, trainer, and author. Patti has over twenty five years of classroom experience teaching students and coordinating programs in Freeport, Maine. She currently teaches classes as part of the adjunct faculty at the University of Southern Maine. Patti is also a consultant for the Maine Department of Education in gifted education.
Patti is a presenter in the United States, Canada, Singapore, and Australia where she conducts conferences as well as short and long term district workshops focusing on the needs of all students. She presents keynotes, workshop sessions and trainings on the following topics: differentiation, critical and creative thinking, integrating curriculum, graphic organizers and instructional strategies, and meeting the needs of special populations. Her sessions are designed to be research based, practical, interactive, product oriented and, customized. Patti is the founder of Patti Drapeau Educational Consulting Services.
Patti developed a curriculum model for the regular classroom called “Affective Perspectives: Combining Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, and Affect.” She has authored a variety of articles for the Maine Exchange, Teaching Matters, and Understanding our Gifted. She is the author of Great Teaching with Graphic Organizers (1998) published by Scholastic Publishers, Differentiated Instruction: Making It Work (2004) also published by Scholastic, Differentiating with Graphic Organizers Tools to Foster Critical and Creative Thinking (2009) published by Corwin Press, and Great Teaching with Graphic Organizers 2nd edition revised and updated (2010) published by Hawker Brownlow.
